How to Catch Redfish. If you want to catch Redfishes, you have to read this first. Some equipments that you must have are :

• 7’ medium action rod.

• Spinning reel with 8-10 # test monofilament.

• 2,5 – 3 ft. of 20# test monofilament leader tied directly to your 8-10# test line using a surgeon’s or uni to uni knot.

• Make sure you have a good pair of polarized sunglasses so you can see the redfish in the shallows.

There are also many baits include live baits (live shrimp, scaled sardine, pinfish, etc), artificial baits (hard plastics, soft plastics, spoons, etc).

After you have the equipments, now you have to know where you should start to fish. The most important thing in searching for Redfish is to be very quiet. Don’t make any noise at least 100 yards from where you’re going to fish. Be sure to shut off your motor before it. Always look for grassy areas with white sandy potholes. The water depth should be 3-4 ft. deep. Look near the mangroves and under docks and then look near water movement, Redfish tends to push a lot of water when moving. After you have finished catch them and you leaving the area, push-pole your way out or let the wind blow you out. If you start your engine, you’ll just spook the fish and they may not be there the next time you go back.
